Disney has confirmed that “Disney Junior Play and Dance!” will temporarily close this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The closure begins May 25, 2025, and makes way for a brand-new experience. In its place, Disney will launch “Get Animated,” a high-energy DJ dance party designed to keep younger guests moving and grooving. This change is part of the Cool Kid Summer campaign, which rolls out new offerings across all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
“Get Animated”, A New Show Debuts On May 27
Guests won’t have to wait long for the new show. “Get Animated” officially kicks off on May 27, just two days after the previous show closes. Disney promises lively music, interactive moments, and plenty of excitement to match the summer vibe.
Notably, May 27 also marks the debut of two other major shows at Hollywood Studios:
- The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
These additions aim to refresh the park’s entertainment lineup just in time for summer crowds.
‘Disney Junior Play and Dance!’ Expected Return in September 2025
Although Disney hasn’t announced a specific date, “Disney Junior Play and Dance!” will likely return in September 2025. This timeline coincides with the end of the Cool Kid Summer initiative, suggesting a seasonal swap rather than a permanent change.
Originally launched in 2020, Disney Junior Play and Dance! features beloved Disney Junior characters, interactive songs, and kid-friendly dancing. The show quickly became a favorite for families with preschoolers.
