Crane Removed From Tomorrowland Astro Orbiter as Refurbishment Slows- Magic Kingdom 2/4/2025

The Astro Orbiter is no more at the Magic Kingdom.  The ride closed for refurbishment on January 13th, 2025, and Disney has wasted no time on the attraction teardown which is now complete.

In the past few days, the crane was removed, leaving only a skeleton of the attraction (where the planets once were).  We don’t expect the crane to come back till they begin putting the attraction back together.

Based on the fact that the crane is gone, I would speculate that nothing is happening to the skeleton of the structure itself. If any changes are to be made, obviously, the crane would have to return.

Disney has stated that the refurbishment will conclude in the summer.  But it is still unknown if there will be any changes to the attraction itself.
