Walt Disney World has officially discontinued its refillable mug program at Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. The change coincided with the park’s reopening on May 1, 2025, following a seasonal refurbishment. Previously, guests could purchase souvenir mugs for unlimited same-day refills. They also had the option to reactivate the mugs on future visits. However, all refill stations have now been removed or blocked. Guests with existing mugs can no longer refill them at the park.

Disney has not provided an official reason for ending the refillable mug program. The company also hasn’t announced any replacement options or alternatives. This move comes as Typhoon Lagoon resumed operations yesterday after its winter refurbishment. It is a shame that Disney Refillable Mugs have been discontinued at the water parks. While Universal has continued to expand their refillable mug programs, Disney has continued to opt for the less environmentally friendly option. They are likely trying to recuperate costs from their current benefit which allows resort guests to visit the water parks for free on their check in day. Hopefully, Disney will reverse course soon.
