NEW: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Testing Switchbacks After Teleportation Room – Getting Extended Queue Ready For Its Standby Debut

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is removing its virtual queue for the first time in the over 1,000 days it has been open on February 25th, 2025. Due to the popularity of this attraction, we expect that the ride will have ridiculously long lines. And we already see some major changes around the attraction as a result.

Extended Queue Ropes Seen At The Ready From The Monorail

While riding the monorail this morning, we were able to peer over the fence and see that they already have an additional extended queue ready for the first day of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on the roller coaster, switching to a normal standby queue.

The outdoor extended queue that Disney has tested in the past could be seen as well this morning. This extended queue outside the attraction only adds about an hour to the line. We will see on the 25th how long the line becomes and where they plan to route the queue.

Switchbacks Added After Teleportation Pre-Show at Cosmic Rewind

One of the most uncomfortable situations you find yourself in on Guardians Of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is after the teleportation pre show. People usually run, push, and shove to be first in line at the end of the narrow corridor.

The line merges from as wide as 20 people, which creates a “I was in front of you atmosphere” that most guests including me don’t like. This likely would only be exacerbated if the line is over it’s limited 45 minutes once it comes off its virtual queue.

Disney is already trying to counteract this misstep they created. As seen first here, they have added ropes and switchbacks to the section after.

The goal seems clear: make them merge together faster in a less uncomfortable way. And we are happy to see this change.
