Last night, Batwing at Six Flags America experienced a minor incident when its front car’s cosmetic cover detached mid-ride. Photos of the detached cover on Batwing were posted to Reddit by user Silent-Barracuda7283 around 8 PM.
Thankfully, the part was purely cosmetic and did not impact the safety of the ride due to the limited amount of guests on board Batwing at Six Flags America. Still, it’s a reminder of the aging state of some coasters at Six Flags America. As a reminder, this is the parks final season before permanent closure at the end of the year.
We’re hoping this doesn’t affect Batwing’s availability for the remainder of the season. It’s one of the park’s most iconic rides and a rare Vekoma Flying Dutchman model.
