Previous Construction Updates On Wrath of Rakshasa – Six Flags Great America

Six Flags has been releasing a lot of updates on the hyped Wrath of Rakshasa on their Instagram and X pages. Detailed updates from the first column to the first track piece installed.

Wrath of Rakshasa is Six Flags Great America’s all-new for 2025 coaster. It is a B&M Dive Coaster, which has become a very popular coaster to build in the chain. The ride is replacing Buccaneer Battle, which was a water ride in the County Fair section of the park.

It was confirmed from Six Flags Great America that the ride will have theming. Additionally, the ride will feature a cool locker alternative. Your bags will be whisked above you in the ride load area on a conveyor system, similar to that of Yukon Striker at Canada’s Wonderland.
Quote from Six Flags on Wrath of Rakshasa:
Fear the WRATH as you prepare to take on Six Flags Great America’s ALL NEW attraction for 2025, Wrath of Rakshasa, the steepest and most inverted dive coaster in the world! As you rise, the air grows thick with anticipation, and whispers of Rakshasa lurking within will send shivers down your spine. Towering ominously at an impressive 180 feet, this dive coaster invites you to ascend into the shadows before surrendering to a heart-stopping 171-foot drop at a record-breaking beyond-vertical 96 degrees that feels like a descent into the abyss.

It is unknown at this time what the planned opening date for the attraction is going to be. The construction is coming along very nicely, however, so we don’t expect it to take too long. Six Flags Great America is expected to open for the season on Friday, April 18th, 2025.
We will continue to give you more updates as construction progresses. Stay tuned to RideRover for more updates!
